 
        Ilam, Nepal — Ten people were injured in a traffic accident on the Mechi Highway at Kukhure, Deumai Municipality–1, Ilam, when a passenger Bolero jeep (Me 1 Ja 3137) and a Pulsar 220cc motorcycle (Pr.1–01–016P 1367) collided head-on.
The accident occurred around 10:30 AM today as the Bolero was traveling from Tehrathum to Jhapa and the motorcycle was heading from Ilam to Panchthar.
According to police, the motorcyclist and nine passengers in the Bolero sustained injuries. A rescue team led by Police Sub-Inspector Rojan Nembang from Rakse Police Post rescued the injured and transported them to Ilam District Hospital for treatment.
The Bolero driver, 26-year-old Rabin Tamang of Tehrathum, has been taken into custody. He sustained minor injuries to his right cheek and leg. The vehicle had fallen about 10 meters off the road, and efforts are underway to retrieve it. Police confirmed that traffic on the highway remains unobstructed.
The motorcycle’s documents were not found, police said.

10. Laxmi Prasad Mainali (36), Panchthar — injury to right palm, stable condition.
