 
        Bhairahawa, Nepal — Vice President of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT), Kamal Gautam, passed away today in Bhairahawa.
According to reports, Gautam collapsed while delivering a speech during a program organized by the Siddhartha Chamber of Commerce and Industry to protest against power cuts.
During his address, Gautam had expressed strong anger over the ongoing electricity outages, stating that the jobs of around 25,000 workers were at risk and that the industrial sector was in crisis due to the frequent power interruptions.
The 62-year-old Gautam, a resident of Jyotinagar, Butwal, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital after collapsing, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
