 
        The District Administration Office, Dhankuta has urged residents to exercise special caution from Kartik 15 to 17 (October 31 to November 2) due to the risk of heavy rainfall.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, heavy rain is expected in many parts of the country, including Dhankuta, with possible snowfall in high-altitude areas during this period.
The administration has advised the public to avoid going outdoors except for essential work, to identify safe locations in areas at risk of landslides or flooding, and to be prepared to relocate immediately if necessary.
Administrative Officer Ramji Paudel stated that considering the possibility of road blockages, the administration has instructed to keep dozers, loaders, and other machinery ready and urged all agencies to remain in close contact with the Disaster Management Committee.
Meanwhile, due to the same weather risks, all community and institutional schools in Pakhribas Municipality will remain closed from Kartik 14 to 18 (October 30 to November 3).
Mayor Gyan Bahadur Gurung said that the decision was made as Cyclone ‘Montha’, developing in the Bay of Bengal, and a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea are likely to cause widespread rainfall across Nepal.
The municipality’s education branch has also requested parents and students to stay cautious and avoid traveling to risky areas during this period.
