Continuous rainfall has significantly increased the risk of landslides along major highways in Chitwan. The District Administration Office (DAO) Chitwan has issued a public notice requesting people to avoid traveling along the Narayangadh–Muglin and Muglin–Malekhu road sections unless absolutely necessary.
The administration has advised travelers to seek updated information before making the journey. For inquiries, travelers can contact:
- District Police Office Information Officer: 9855013999
- District Traffic Police Office Chief: 9855017099
According to the DAO, small landslides have been occurring continuously on these road sections since Thursday due to heavy rainfall. The authorities have urged the public to travel only if unavoidable.
Currently, vehicles are being allowed to pass cautiously after clearing the debris from landslides at Tuin Bhir on the Narayangadh–Muglin road and several locations along the Muglin–Malekhu section of the Prithvi Highway, the office stated.
