The cyclone “Motha”, which developed over the Bay of Bengal, is currently centered around Chhattisgarh, India as a low-pressure system, affecting Nepal’s weather conditions.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Nepal is also experiencing a partial influence of westerly winds and another low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea.
At present, Koshi Province is experiencing overcast skies, while other parts of the country have partly to mostly cloudy conditions. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
During the daytime, skies will remain generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati Provinces, and partly cloudy in other regions. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in a few areas of Koshi Province and in one or two hilly areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces. Likewise, light snowfall is expected in some high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, and in one or two places of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
At night, the weather will remain generally cloudy in Koshi and Madhesh Provinces, and partly cloudy elsewhere. Light rain with snowfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, the Division reported.
