Two people were killed and four others injured in an autorickshaw accident that occurred on Saturday evening in Rukum East.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Rejina Gharti and 25-year-old Fisolti Gharti, both residents of Lugum, Bhume Rural Municipality–1. Police said the two women were sisters-in-law (jetani and dewrani) from the same family.
They were pronounced dead shortly after being taken to Rukumkot District Hospital, where doctors confirmed their deaths upon arrival.
The injured have been identified as 26-year-old Pritika Budha and her 11-month-old son Subham Budha, along with 25-year-old Beauty Pun and 3-year-old Saksham Gharti, all from Lugum. They are currently undergoing treatment at Rukumkot District Hospital, police said.
The autorickshaw was reportedly heading from Lugum toward Brahtal when it met with the accident along the Mid-Hill Highway at Syawal, Bhume Rural Municipality–1.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
