A meeting of the Council of Ministers has begun at Singha Durbar, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
Today’s meeting is a regular one. It is expected to discuss and make decisions on various issues, including recent political developments. The meeting is also preparing to officially declare 45 individuals who lost their lives during the Gen Z movement as martyrs.
Although the government had already made a policy decision to grant martyr status earlier, the move is now set to be formalized and published in the official gazette.
Before the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Sushila Karki held discussions with the Chief Secretary, secretaries of various ministries, and heads of the security agencies.
