
Due to the monsoon’s low-pressure system remaining around the Tarai region, the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast that the monsoon will remain active over the next 24 hours, with the entire country expected to be fully cloudy this afternoon.
Most parts of the country are likely to experience moderate rainfall, while some areas of Madhesh Province, as well as Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, may see heavy rain. One or two places could experience torrential downpours. A few places in Karnali Province are also expected to see heavy rainfall.
According to the division, tonight, the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain fully cloudy, while the rest of the country will be generally cloudy. Many places in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, as well as the hilly and Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, are likely to witness moderate rainfall.
Some areas in the hilly and Tarai regions of Sudurpaschim Province may experience extreme rainfall. Heavy rain is also possible in parts of the Tarai region of Lumbini Province and in a few hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
