The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order to reinstate Hitendra Dev Shakya as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
Shakya had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court after he was removed from the position of Managing Director and replaced by Manoj Silwal.
During the hearing on Friday, Justices Abdul Aziz Musalman and Nrip Dhwaj Niraula denied issuing the interim order as requested.
Shakya had filed the writ on October 17, claiming that the decision made by Minister Ghising to remove him from the post was unconstitutional.
Shakya was appointed as the Executive Director of the NEA on March 24, 2025 (Chaitra 11, 2081 BS) for a four-year term under the government led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
