The extended meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is ongoing in Sauraha, Chitwan. The meeting, which began on Friday, continued into Saturday, focusing on preparations for the upcoming elections, party organization strengthening, and political strategies, according to the party.
Addressing the gathering, RSP Vice President Dr. Swarnim Wagle said that the party is making history. He remarked, “We are a new party, and we are in the process of creating history. Seventy years from now, when journalists and researchers write the history of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, they will surely mention this extended meeting in Chitwan.”
Dr. Wagle mentioned that the party is preparing for its first national convention, describing it as a natural stage in the party’s development. “This is a step forward in our good governance and prosperity campaign,” he said. “We are in a special phase, and the country itself is in an extraordinary transitional period. Despite internal and external challenges, we are ready to raise the message of justice and unity.”
Speaking to the media, party leader Hari Dhakal said that RSP is not an alternative party but a mainstream political force. Similarly, leader Shishir Khanal expressed support for the issues raised during the Gen Z movement and said that the party believes in peaceful activism.
The extended meeting is attended by central committee members, provincial coordinators, district coordinators, and other party officials from various levels.
