The CPN-UML is organizing demonstrations across all 753 local units today as part of its nationwide public mobilization campaign.
According to the party’s earlier announcement, UML had decided to conduct public awareness programs at ward, municipal, district, and national levels against what it calls “reactionary conspiracies.”
Head of the UML Publicity and Publication Department, Rajendra Gautam, said that gatherings have already been held in all 6,743 wards of the country. Those meetings briefed cadres about the political developments since Bhadra 24, the “unconstitutional dissolution” of Parliament, and the party’s future direction.
Gautam added that in several municipalities, UML plans to hold motorcycle rallies as part of its show of strength, while others will organize protest marches and corner assemblies with slogans to awaken the public.
To make the demonstrations grand, the party has instructed participants to carry UML flags, organize rallies in densely populated areas, and conclude them with short assemblies explaining the current political situation.
The UML has also directed all members to share photos, videos, and highlights of the demonstrations on social media and send them to media outlets.
