The ‘Gen-Z Movement’ has demanded the immediate dismissal of Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Kulman Ghising, accusing him of causing a loss of over Rs 430 million through alleged collusion in the electricity trade agreement with PTC India Limited.
In a press release issued on Kartik 25, the movement’s spokesperson Vijay Sah stated:
“Energy Minister Kulman Ghising should be immediately dismissed and a corruption case filed at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). NEA Managing Director Manoj Silwal should be suspended immediately and investigated under the Money Laundering Prevention Act. The Electricity Regulatory Commission should form an independent probe committee and make all electricity trade agreements public.”
The statement further demanded that those involved in what it termed a “betrayal of national interest” be imprisoned and that state losses be recovered through legal action.
The movement has also warned of further protests if the government fails to address its demands promptly.
