Kathmandu Metropolitan City has demolished structures built by former Energy Minister Deepak Khadka on the premises of the Nepal Scout’s land in Lainchaur.
On Friday morning, a team from the metropolis, accompanied by municipal police and bulldozers, arrived at the site and demolished the illegal structures.
Leader Khadka had been using the land leased from the Nepal Scout National Headquarters, but he reportedly failed to pay rent for a long time.
In response, the Nepal Scout had issued a notice on Kartik 20, giving him a seven-day deadline to clear the outstanding dues. That deadline expired today.
The Scout administration had also warned that it would seize all buildings and belongings on its property and, if necessary, recover the unpaid rent from Khadka’s personal assets.
