The Kathmandu district convention of the Rastriya Prajatantrik Yuwa Sangathan, the youth wing of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), descended into chaos on Wednesday before it could formally begin at SR Banquet in Dhumbarahi.
Amid heated arguments and slogan chanting among participants, RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden announced the postponement of the convention before the proceedings started.
However, a rival faction supporting RPP senior leader Dhawal Shumsher Rana claimed the convention had already been completed and declared themselves the winners.
The group also issued a signed memorandum alleging that the convention was being conducted in a unilateral, undemocratic, and statute-violating manner.
