The landslide at Siruwari in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2 of Myagdi, under the Kaligandaki Corridor’s Beni–Jomsom–Korala road section, has been cleared, allowing two-way traffic to operate again.
Because the land from the banks of the Kaligandaki River up to Bhagwati Majhkhark had cracked and slid, the road in the middle used to get blocked during the monsoon. Vehicles would get stuck, and two-way traffic was impossible, causing frequent traffic jams.
After the monsoon ended, the Beni–Jomsom–Korala Road Project deployed a dozer and loader from the Department of Roads earlier this week to clear the landslide and widen the road. As a result, the section is now open for smooth two-way traffic.
