Medical college businessman Durga Prasai has been arrested. A joint team from the Kathmandu District Police Range and the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office took him into custody late Monday night.
Police confirmed that Prasai was arrested from his residence in Bhaktapur. He has been accused of attempting to disturb peace and security.
Just on Monday, Prasai held a press conference in Kathmandu, declaring that his protest movement would continue and announcing plans to shut down activities from Mechi to Mahakali.
However, the interim government took him into custody to prevent possible violence and insecurity that could escalate due to his actions.
