Chitwan Rhinos found themselves under pressure after completing 10 overs at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, as they managed to score only 51 runs for the loss of 3 wickets while batting against Lumbini Lions in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) match.
After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Chitwan struggled from the beginning as Lumbini’s bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths, restricting Chitwan’s batters from playing freely.
In the very first over, star batter Dawid Malan was bowled by Ruben Trumpelmann. Deepak Bohara scored 10 runs, and Dev Khanal added 14 before both were dismissed by Abhishek Gautam.
Lumbini’s Abhishek Gautam delivered an impressive spell, taking 2 crucial wickets while giving away just 15 runs in his 3 overs.
At the drinks break, Chitwan’s experienced overseas player Ravi Bopara (21) and captain Kushal Malla (3) were at the crease, looking to rebuild the innings.
