The Election Commission has announced that the number of political parties registered to participate in the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21 has reached 33.
According to the Commission, 25 parties had registered by Wednesday, and an additional 8 parties registered on Thursday.
The parties registered on Thursday include:
- Janapratyanttrik Party Nepal led by Nir Bahadur Shrestha
- Bikashsheel Janata Party led by Pritam Mukhiya
- Rastriya Nagarik Party led by Shukra Bahadur Gurung
- Janata Samajwadi Party led by Ashok Kumar Rai
Similarly, the Rastriya Parivartan Party, led by Rajesh Portel—who lost a leg during the Gen-Z protests of Bhadra 23 and 24—also registered on Thursday to participate in the upcoming election. Among the 21 members of its central committee, all except four are from the Gen-Z group.
The Election Commission confirmed that this is the party’s first registration for a national election.
