The CPN (UML) is preparing to announce the National Volunteer Force (NVF), also referred to as the Rastriya Swayamsevak Bal.
The announcement event will be held on Friday at the Karki Banquet in Babarmahal, where UML Chair KP Sharma Oli will be the chief guest. Before the program begins, participants will hold a march-past from Babarmahal through Maitighar and onward to Baneshwor.
According to the force, participants will gather at Babarmahal, move through Maitighar, return toward Babarmahal, and then head to Baneshwor. Following the Gen-Z protests of Bhadra 23 and 24, the UML has been demanding the reinstatement of the House of Representatives and has formed various mechanisms aimed at ensuring the safety of its leaders, cadres, and the general public.
According to Bhanubhakta Dhakal, head of the party’s mass organization mechanism, the NVF is being launched to address rising insecurity, unrest, and the declining morale of citizens after the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24.
The NVF aims to support state agencies, free citizens from fear and insecurity, assist security bodies, and help with relief and rescue efforts during natural disasters.
The UML has already notified the Kathmandu District Administration Office about the event. Likewise, on Saturday, the UML Bagmati Province Committee will hold another program at Bhrikutimandap.
