The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition demanding the stoppage of hydropower construction inside a national park.
A group led by Sumpa Tamang had filed the petition on Baisakh 27, 2079, seeking to halt the 30-megawatt Langtang Khola Hydropower Project being developed inside Langtang National Park by Multi Energy Development Pvt. Ltd. since 2073.
On Mangsir 3, a joint bench of Justices Tek Prasad Dhungana and Shanti Singh Thapa held the final hearing and decided to quash the petition.
