Vidya Shrestha has resigned from the central committee of the Ujyaalo Nepal Party, led by Energy Minister Kulman Ghising.
She announced her resignation through a post on Facebook. Shrestha stated that she stepped down in protest against the road expansion project in Hetauda.
She accused the government of using force during the road expansion process, calling it an act against human rights. “From today, I announce my resignation from the central committee of Ujyaalo Nepal Party. What will other activist friends do? My conscience did not allow me to continue. I stand with the victims of Hetauda,” she wrote.
