The government of China’s Guangdong Province and its small and medium-sized entrepreneurs have expressed interest in cooperating with Nepali businesses and promoting bilateral trade.
A delegation from Guangdong Province, currently visiting Nepal, met ministers and secretaries from the federal and provincial governments and expressed readiness to collaborate in promoting small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The delegation stated that they are willing to provide suitable opportunities to promote Nepali products at the international level.
The Chinese team, coordinated by the Federation of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs of Nepal, met Bagmati Province Minister for Industry, Bindu Shrestha. The delegation was led by Wang Suping, Deputy Director-General of the Industry, Information, and Technology Department of Guangdong Province. Wang expressed commitment to supporting the development and expansion of SMEs.
The delegation also held meetings with senior officials from the Bagmati Province Health Ministry and the Federal Ministry of Industry. The team included Deputy Director-General Fan Guwailiang, China International SME Fair Deputy Director Huang Jianjun, Assistant Researcher Su Jian, and member Peter Chen.
During discussions with Nepali business leaders and representatives of the SME Federation, the Chinese delegation highlighted the high demand for Nepali products in China and expressed readiness to support market expansion. They also showed interest in business promotion, as well as skill and technology exchange between the two countries.
At the event, Federation President Inu Paudel requested support in providing special priority for Nepali entrepreneurs to participate in industrial fairs in China. The visiting team also observed Nepali products and toured the Patan Industrial Area in Lalitpur.
