Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun has taken a jab at the design of the proposed residence—popularly referred to as “Oli Kuti”—being built for CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Posting on Facebook this morning, Minister Pun sarcastically criticized the design, saying that despite being a household of only two people, the proposed residence appears excessively luxurious. He went on to say that the engineer responsible for designing such a grand structure for a small family should face action.
Pun wrote, “The engineer who designed this map should face strict action. A defamation and humiliation case should also be filed. If the boss asks for a design of a small cottage for two people, how can the engineer come up with such a huge palace? How careless can one be? Just a moment of fun.”
The new residence, dubbed “Oli Kuti,” is being constructed in Gundu, Bhaktapur, after Oli’s previous residence in Balkot was set on fire during the GenZ movement on Bhadra 24. The foundation stone for the new building was laid by Oli’s wife Radhika Shakya on Mangsir 18.
