Biratnagar Kings have won the toss and decided to bowl first against Sudurpaschim Royals in the first qualifier match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
The toss was held a short while ago at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, where Biratnagar captain Sandeep Lamichhane invited Sudurpaschim to bat first.
The winning team of today’s match will directly secure a place in the tournament final, scheduled for Mangsir 27.
The losing team will get another chance and will play against the winner of the Eliminator for a spot in the final. Kathmandu Gorkhas and Lumbini Lions will face each other in the Eliminator.
Sudurpaschim, the runners-up of the first edition, advanced to Qualifier-1 as the top team on the points table, while Biratnagar finished second.
In the league stage, Sudurpaschim won 6 out of 7 matches, losing only once.
Biratnagar, who also played seven matches, secured victory in five of them.
