The Nepali Congress has recommended Gopalman Shrestha, Dhanraj Gurung, Indra Bahadur Rijal, and several others as candidates from Syangja for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4 (Fagun 21).
A district committee meeting held on Wednesday proposed 11 names for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system. The list includes Congress leader Gopalman Shrestha, Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, and Central Publicity Department member Indra Bahadur Rijal, among others.
Others recommended under the FPTP category are Raju Thapa, Ajit Adhikari Kshetri, Mekhlal Shrestha, Govinda Bahadur Ranabhat, Premraj Paudel, Buddhi Bahadur Rana (Kumar), Khuma Prasad Aryal, Bandana Lamsal, and Bharat Raj Dhakal.
Similarly, for the proportional representation (PR) category, the party has recommended Tulsi Giri, Dhankumari Thapa, Narayan Dhakal, and Dilipa Shree Adhikari. From Constituency No. 2, a total of 12 names have been proposed for FPTP.
The recommended candidates from Constituency No. 2 include Bhagwat Prakash Malla, Dhanraj Gurung, Gopalman Shrestha, Sheshkant Puri, Kedar Kafle, Khuma Prasad Aryal, Bishnu Paudel, Yuvaraj Pandey, Mohan Prasad Pandey, Dhurba Sharma Pangeni, Maya Rana, and Shyam Basyal.
For the PR list, Bhuma Sharma Pande (women), Tulsi Nepali (Dalit woman), Devaki Rana (indigenous woman), Bimala Shrestha (indigenous woman), Lil Bahadur Ranpal (Dalit), and Surya Majhi (minority) have been recommended.
