The Council of Ministers on Thursday approved the agreement reached between Gen-Z representatives and the government a day earlier.
Government spokesperson Jagadish Kharel informed that the Cabinet endorsed the agreement and decided to publish it in the Nepal Gazette.
Once published in the Gazette, the government has directed the concerned ministries to move forward with necessary actions as outlined in the agreement.
As part of the deal, the government and Gen-Z leaders agreed to form a Constitutional Amendment Recommendation Commission. According to the agreement, the high-level commission will identify, study, and analyze constitutional, legal, and institutional reforms needed to reflect the collective wisdom and aspirations of the Nepali people and recommend forward-looking changes.
The commission will include independent experts, representatives from Gen-Z, youth members, and other stakeholders.
