Prime Minister Sushila Karki has appointed four new ministers to the interim government. Their names were recommended to President Ram Chandra Paudel today for formal appointment.
Among the newly added ministers is Madhav Chaulagain, a well-known writer and cultural figure from Jumla. He gained widespread popularity for his hit song “Jurukkai Karnali”, which is considered one of his finest creations.
Chaulagain hails from Lamragau, Tatopani Rural Municipality of Jumla. He is also an organizer of the “Kuda Karnalika” Karnali Literature Festival, which he and his team conduct annually. The same group also hosts a monthly literary discussion program in Kathmandu called “Karnali Discourse.”
Academically, Chaulagain holds a Master’s degree in Health Science under the Faculty of Education and another MA in Rural Development (RD). He is currently pursuing an MPhil in Anthropology, he confirmed.
With the addition of these four ministers, PM Karki’s interim cabinet expands as her remaining term enters its final 83 days.
