Kathmandu: Rajendra Singh Bhandari has officially assumed office as the Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security.
Appointed on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Bhandari was among four newly appointed ministers who took their oath of office and secrecy from President Ram Chandra Paudel in a special ceremony at the Presidential Office today.
The four ministers sworn in are:
- Kumarsingh Ingam – Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation
- Rajendra Singh Bhandari – Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security
- Madhav Chaulagain – Minister of Forest and Environment
- Shraddha Shrestha – Minister of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens
With today’s expansion, the current cabinet formed on Bhadra 27 now totals 14 ministers. This cabinet was previously expanded on Bhadra 30, Asoj 6, and Kartik 9, following the Bhadra 23–24 Jenej (youth) movement that prompted the formation of the interim government under PM Karki.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, PM Sushila Karki, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, fellow ministers, heads of constitutional bodies, senior officials, and security chiefs.
