After resigning from the post of Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah, popularly known as Balen, has been actively touring the country as a candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. Following his resignation on Magh 4, Balen began his election campaign from Jhapa-5, where he is contesting against CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli.
Busy with campaign activities for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21, Balen reached Nepalgunj on Monday as part of his election outreach. Prior to this, he had visited districts including Taplejung, Dhankuta, Dharan, Sankhuwasabha, and Ilam.
Hundreds of supporters gathered at the airport to welcome him upon his arrival in Nepalgunj. Balen waved to the crowd from the rooftop of his car as enthusiastic supporters rushed to take selfies and photographs with him. A large number of local residents were also seen watching him from nearby rooftops, reflecting the growing public interest and enthusiasm surrounding his campaign.
