The National Democracy Day will be celebrated in a grand manner for three days. In remembrance of the establishment of democracy on Falgun 7, 2007 BS, the government has decided to observe the day from Falgun 6 to 8.
A meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sushila Karki also formed a main celebration committee chaired by the Prime Minister. The committee includes ministers of the Government of Nepal, mayors of all municipalities in the Kathmandu Valley, the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, the Chief of the Army Staff, secretaries of the Government of Nepal, and heads of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and National Investigation Department.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs has been appointed as the member secretary of the main celebration committee. As per the decision, various programs will be organized across Nepal as well as at Nepali embassies, diplomatic missions, and consulates abroad throughout the three days. The main समारोह program will be held at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel, in Kathmandu.
