The Election Commission has announced that ballot papers for 60 districts have already been printed, while printing for 17 districts is still pending.
According to the Commission, printing and packing of first-past-the-post ballot papers for 25 districts has been completed. As per the details provided, the work has been finalized for Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum (Western part), Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura and Achham.
Similarly, ballot printing and packing have been completed for another 25 districts including Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga and Sunsari. While ballot papers for a total of 60 districts have been printed, packing work for some of them is still remaining.
The Election Commission has also stated that ballot printing under the proportional representation system has been completed. Under this system, a total of 20.83 million ballot papers have been printed, packed, verified and kept ready for transportation.
Meanwhile, 20.323 million ballot papers are to be printed under the first-past-the-post system. Printing for this category began on Magh 16. In addition, 1,098,200 sample ballot papers have already been printed and distributed to various districts, according to the Commission.
