Snowfall has occurred in the Muktinath Temple area and upper Mustang, continuing since last night following rainfall.
Due to the ongoing snowfall, the Mustang District Administration Office has issued a notice urging trekkers not to embark on journeys in these areas.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology forecasts light to heavy snowfall in high Himalayan regions of Mustang, including Mustang–Dolpa, Yak Kharka, Manang–Mustang Thorong La Pass, Mustang–Manang Saribung Pass, and Dhampus Peak on the Mustang–Myagdi Dhaulagiri trekking route.
Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal advised travelers to avoid trekking in these regions. Snowfall and rain are also expected in other parts of Mustang until Wednesday, and tourists and pilgrims are urged to check weather forecasts before traveling.
The number of trekkers heading to Himalayan areas, including Mustang, has surged ahead of Tihar.
