The prices of gold and silver have continued to rise in the local market. For the past three days, one tola of gold has been trading above NPR 277,000, and the trend continued today.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Merchants Association, the price of one tola of hallmark gold today is NPR 284,700, while silver is priced at NPR 5,880 per tola. Last Sunday, one tola of hallmark gold was sold at NPR 278,800 and silver at NPR 5,625. On Monday, gold was traded at NPR 282,000 per tola and silver at NPR 5,810.
Internationally, one ounce of gold is currently trading at USD 4,690, and silver at USD 94 per ounce.
Economic analysts attribute the rise in gold and silver prices to increased demand for safe-haven assets amid global economic uncertainty, inflation, and geopolitical tensions.
