Chairman of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, Kulman Ghising, has emphasized that increasing energy production is essential to making Nepal prosperous.
Speaking at a press conference organized by the Ujyalo Nepal Party in Rajbiraj on Friday, Ghising said that achieving economic prosperity requires self-reliance in electricity and the development of the agricultural sector. He stated that the initiatives and reforms he has introduced in the energy sector have presented practical and implementable models for Nepal.
Highlighting his experience, Ghising said it could be utilized for the country’s overall economic transformation. He expressed confidence that Nepal could produce 30,000 megawatts of electricity within the next 10 years and generate income through power production. “We can make the country self-reliant and create a situation where Nepali people can use electricity free of cost. Sustainable development is not possible without achieving self-reliance in basic sectors such as agriculture, drinking water, employment, and energy—our party is clear on this,” he said.
Ghising added that the party is moving forward by prioritizing the expectations and needs of the people, with a clear focus on good governance, transparency, and development.
