Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Mahabir Pun has warned that federal grants will be withheld from municipalities that fail to form School Management Committees (SMCs) as per the rules.
On Wednesday, Minister Pun shared through social media that a notice has been issued to local governments instructing them to constitute SMCs in accordance with legal procedures.
He wrote, “Some municipalities have been operating schools arbitrarily without forming School Management Committees. A notice has been issued directing such municipalities to immediately form SMCs as required. Otherwise, federal grants to those schools will be halted.”
