The Nepali Congress has called a meeting of its Central Working Committee today, even as the party’s second Special General Convention is ongoing. The meeting is scheduled for 11:00 AM at the party’s central office, BP Smriti Bhawan, Sanepa.
According to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, office bearers and members of the Central Working Committee, along with presidents from all seven provinces, have been requested to attend the meeting.
The decision to convene the Central Working Committee meeting while the second Special General Convention—led by General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharma—is underway is being viewed as politically significant. The convention, which began on Sunday at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, has been deliberating on party statute amendments, policy direction, leadership issues, and contemporary political matters.
The meeting held in the midst of the convention is expected to discuss key agendas of the Special General Convention, the party’s future strategy, and measures to further strengthen the party organization. Political observers believe the timing of the meeting could lead to important decisions affecting the party’s internal dynamics and overall direction.
