The special general convention organized by the pro–special convention faction of the Nepali Congress has moved forward the election schedule.
The Election Committee formed by the special general convention has set the deadline for candidate nomination until 9:15 am today. Following the nomination process, other election-related activities will proceed, according to Election Committee Coordinator and senior advocate Sitaram KC.
As per the party’s old statute, voting will be held for one party president, two vice presidents, two general secretaries, eight joint general secretaries, and 121 central committee members. In line with the procedure adopted by the special general convention, a five-member Election Committee was formed under the coordination of senior advocate KC.
During the Nepali Congress’s 14th General Convention, there were 4,743 voters. Excluding those who have passed away or joined other parties, the number of general convention representatives currently stands at 4,635.
