The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has announced that a total of 2,491 essential driving licenses were printed within one month. The department made this information public through its official Facebook page, Hello Department of Transport Management.
Printing resumed on Kartik 21 at the Security Printing Center in Panauti, Kavre. Since then, the department has been printing licenses considered essential—primarily for migrant workers and students preparing to go abroad.
According to DoTM, applicants who urgently need a driving license can apply both online and physically. Their licenses will be printed immediately after verification.
The department also clarified that, due to the JENZI movement protest and arson incident on Bhadra 23/24, its automated notification system—which informs applicants to collect their license within 72 hours—has been disrupted. As a result, details are being published through Facebook instead.
Applicants whose names appear on the department’s Facebook page are requested to visit the department with the original revenue payment receipt to collect their license. Those renewing or adding a new category must also bring their old driving license.
