Police opened fire on a robbery gang in Mulpani, Kathmandu. A team from the Kathmandu District Police Range fired shots last night while attempting to take the suspects under control.
One leader of the robbery gang was injured by the gunfire and has been admitted to the Trauma Center for treatment. Kathmandu Police SP Ramesh Thapa told Ratopati that police fired after the suspects attempted to attack security personnel during the operation.
Police fired two rounds in total. Ten individuals who had been spreading terror through robberies across the Kathmandu Valley have been arrested. Two police personnel were injured while trying to apprehend the suspects.
According to police, the accused had been involved in robbery incidents in areas including Gaushala, Swayambhu, Bouddha, and Bhaktapur. Police have not disclosed the identities of the arrested suspects.
