Prime Minister Sushila Karki is set to hold discussions today with the top leaders of the country’s three major political parties regarding the upcoming House of Representatives election.
The meeting will take place this afternoon at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar. Participants include Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel said the discussions will be focused specifically on issues related to the upcoming election.
Following the political situation that emerged after the Gen Z movement, the government has been holding continuous talks and dialogues with political parties to normalize the situation and ensure that the election is held on the scheduled date.
In this context, government spokesperson and Minister Kharel had met the top leaders of major political parties at their respective residences on Friday. During those meetings, the leaders emphasized that elections are the only viable option to resolve the current political deadlock and urged the government to create a conducive environment for holding them.
