Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Kamal Thapa has said he feels happy to be able to return home today. Speaking at the unity declaration ceremony of RPP and RPP Nepal held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Thapa said he had left the RPP with a very heavy heart, not out of happiness, and that returning now has brought him joy.
“I feel today as if I have returned home. I had left the RPP home with an extremely heavy heart, not happily. I left home due to various reasons. Now that I have returned, I am happy,” he said.
Thapa also stated that some people, knowingly or unknowingly, accused him of fleeing after defeat, but said those allegations were not true. “At that time, some accused me without understanding, saying that a person who took an oath on the Gita split the party and ran away after losing. But all of that is false. I am also a sportsperson, and I am someone who accepts defeat,” he said.
He urged everyone to move forward strongly by removing the division between old and new, emphasizing unity and collective strength going ahead.
