Chairperson of Samunnat Party Nepal, Sarvendra Khanal, has said that Nepal’s political culture is moving in an apolitical direction and needs urgent purification. He emphasized that politics based on mutual abuse—where new forces criticize old ones and old forces attack new ones—must end, and be replaced by debates grounded in policies, principles, and agendas.
According to Khanal, Samunnat Party Nepal is moving forward with a manifesto, policies, and a long-term roadmap focused on the core objective of making the country prosperous. He stated that the good works carried out by past leadership should be continued, while bad practices must be evaluated both legally and practically.
Chairperson Khanal said, “Rather than old forces abusing new ones and new forces abusing old ones, our priority should be how we ourselves can be right. Good work must be continued and bad practices must be corrected. Corruption is widespread, and our party is focused on how to reform it and establish good governance.”
He also informed that the party has submitted its proportional representation closed list for the upcoming election and that the election manifesto has already been prepared. Additionally, he said the party supports formulating a policy that allows non-resident Nepali citizens to participate in positions other than the executive head.
