With the continued influence of western winds across the country, mixed weather conditions have been observed. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while the weather remains mostly clear in the rest of the country. Dense fog has covered most areas of the Sudurpaschim Terai as well as some parts of the Terai elsewhere.
This afternoon, fluctuations between clear and cloudy skies are expected in high hilly and Himalayan regions, while other hilly areas will see partly cloudy conditions. The division has stated that there is a possibility of light rain along with snowfall at one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. In many parts of the Terai, fog and mist are likely to reduce visibility.
At night, partly cloudy conditions will continue in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Light rain and snowfall may again occur at a few locations in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of these provinces. Fog is expected to persist throughout the night in the Terai region.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned that possible rain and snowfall in the high hilly and Himalayan regions, along with morning fog and mist in the Terai, may affect daily life, tourism, health services, and road transportation. The general public has been urged to adopt necessary precautions.
