The High Court in Butwal has ordered the release of former Home Minister and Rastriya Swatantra Party chairman, Ravi Lamichhane, who was in custody over the Supreme Cooperative savings mismanagement case in Butwal.
The Tulshipur bench of the High Court issued the order for Lamichhane’s release on bail. The hearing, which had been repeatedly postponed due to unavailability of the judges, took place on Thursday before Justices Vasudev Acharya and Tejnarayan Paudel.
According to court spokesperson Ram Bahadur Kunwar, the High Court upheld the earlier district court order that allowed Lamichhane to be released on bail. “Regarding Ravi Lamichhane, the district court had ordered release on bail, which the High Court has maintained. As for Chhabilal Joshi, the district court’s order remains in effect,” he stated.
