Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has once again urged Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba to participate in the ongoing Special Convention at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu.
While presenting his political proposals at the convention, Thapa requested the attendance of Party President Deuba, Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka, and other senior leaders, emphasizing that the convention is being conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution.
He had also made a similar appeal during the inaugural session yesterday.
Thapa stated, “Through the closed session as well, we are requesting the party president and the acting president to participate. This is a program of the party, not a separate event. It is being conducted in line with the party constitution, and we continue to seek your participation.”
He added that while leaders and workers from across the country have been contacting him to join, some leaders have hesitated due to fear of their local district leaders.
Thapa also asserted that the special convention organized by his group cannot be deemed illegal by anyone.
“Many friends have been contacting me—some from outside, some from within. They wish to come, but are hesitant due to their district leaders,” he remarked.
