A pedestrian was killed and two others injured in a motorcycle accident in Shambhunath Municipality, Saptari on Saturday evening.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dambar Bahadur Puri of the District Police Office, the incident occurred on the Kathouna–Pato road section in Ward No. 10, Jamua, where 68-year-old Rambabu Mandal was hit by a motorcycle. Mandal, who was seriously injured, was taken to Chhinnamasta Hospital, Rajbiraj, where doctors declared him dead.
The motorcycle, Province 2–01–001 P. 5045, was traveling from Kathouna toward Rajpur when it struck Mandal.
The driver, 22-year-old Ram Avtar Mandal, a resident of Shambhunath Municipality–11, and the passenger, 16-year-old Vishalkumar Mandal, were also injured and are receiving treatment.
The motorcycle has been taken into custody, and 18-year-old Suraj Mandal, who was on the back of the motorcycle, has also been detained by the Saptari District Police.
