Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane has said that the public should punish leaders who fail to fulfill their commitments within the promised timeframe.
Speaking at a program organized on Saturday at the Pokhara Bus contact office in Chitwan, Lamichhane said leaders should not be allowed to walk around smiling after failing to deliver on what they promised. He stressed that if commitments are not met on time, citizens must hold leaders accountable in every possible way.
Targeting the upcoming elections, Lamichhane said the party is moving forward by making a direct contract with citizens this time. Stating that his role as party chair requires him to travel across the country, he urged citizens to act as his representatives in Chitwan Constituency No. 2 and reach out to households on his behalf.
“This time, winning Chitwan alone is not enough; we must win across the country,” he said, adding that citizens’ support at the local level would allow him to focus on reaching remote parts of the nation.
Lamichhane said the RSP is aiming to form at least a single-majority government, emphasizing that the country needs a stable government for five years. He added that after five years of stable governance, the party’s work itself would speak, making words unnecessary.
He also said he has no other demands from voters, stating that he is entrusting responsibility to the conscience and judgment of the citizens themselves.
