The mortal remains of veteran and popular Nepali actor Sunil Thapa have been kept at the premises of the Film Development Board for final tributes.
Actor Sunil Thapa (68) passed away on Saturday morning while undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital, Thapathali, due to a heart attack. He was admitted to the hospital in an unconscious state, and doctors confirmed his death at 7:30 am through an ECG report.
Thapa had been living for a long time in his apartment at Shankhamul. Widely known in Nepali cinema as “Rate Kaila,” he had an acting career spanning more than four decades, working in Nepali, Indian (Bollywood), and Bhojpuri films.
He appeared in over 300 films. Thapa also played a coach in Priyanka Chopra’s film Mary Kom and acted in popular series such as ** The Family Man**.
Sunil Thapa is regarded as one of the actors who took the portrayal of villainous roles in Nepali cinema to a new height. Film personalities and people from various walks of life are arriving at the Film Development Board to pay their final respects.
